 OUR DESIGN:

Our design contains all of the hydraulics within the landing gear leg and retains the original heel pedal cable actuation method. The "pull-type" master cylinder is actuated by the original brake cable (shortened).  Installation does not require removing the floor boards.  One small fluid reservoir per side is mounted and serviced underneath the gear-to-fuselage faring.  

  

No welding required.  The master cylinder attaches at the base of the landing gear vee with a tube and clamp in lieu of the original brake belcrank (B-series) or with an attach cable in lieu of the original pulleys (F-series).  The original cable is cut and terminated for attachment to the master cylinder with a standard nicopress sleeve and thimble with AN shackles or swage fitting as shown.

 
Fabric on the underside of the landing gear must modified for an access panel by cutting an opening and gluing in a frame for the access panel.  Customer to fabricate simple sheet metal access panel (close-out). The image shows the access panel frame doped onto the fabric on the underside of the landing gear.

B-Series Axle Sleeves side over the existing Taper Axles requiring no modification.  F-Series Axle Spacers slide over the existing Straight Axles to properly align the Calipers with the Brake Disc   The brake torque plate is designed to mate up with the existing Axle Flange, requiring holes to be align-drilled.  A very simple adaptation.  Standard MIL-PRF-5606 hydraulic fluid is used. 
 
The system is approved with standard 6.00 x 6 tires and tubes.  
 

Non-Standard Tire Sizes require separate approval.  See below.

TIRES:

Contact CAP for separate approval of non-standard tire sizes up to 29" Tundra Style.  The most popular for Taylorcraft is 8.50 x 6.
